As always, it depends…

In Physical Therapy school, we always were given this answer and that is because every patient is different and will require different physical therapy treatments and exercises depending on their physical abilities.

But generally speaking, within an NLPT session, we start off with Manual Therapy, which can consist of soft tissue and joint mobilizations, manual stretching, or myofascial release, to name a few, and the purpose of this is to give pain relief, gain more mobility, or prepare the body for movement depending on the patient. Then, we proceed to therapeutic exercises or activities that will help maintain the progress made from manual therapy and improve the areas of focus such as strength, mobility, balance, or flexibility. We call it gaining the range and training the range!
